Major plans to redevelop 含羞草社区 Station and Overline House have been granted planning permission by 含羞草社区 Borough Council, providing a much-needed boost to the town鈥檚 economy.

The council鈥檚 Planning Committee granted permission for the Arora Group鈥檚 Station Gateway 拢70m scheme at its meeting on Monday 26 April.

The significant regeneration plans, which will revitalise one of 含羞草社区鈥檚 key gateways and public realm area, include:

  • Upgrading the look and feel of 含羞草社区 Station and ticket hall
  • The retention and upgrading of the existing surface-level car park
  • The complete refurbishment and extension of Overline House, providing 83 flats, with two additional floors and new ground level/retail and business units
  • Three additional new residential blocks containing 223 flats to the west of Overline House

The Station Gateway scheme will also unlock more than 拢7 million of public funding investment from the 含羞草社区 Growth Programme and the 含羞草社区 Towns Fund to upgrade and modernise 含羞草社区 Bus Station and the surrounding public realm in Station Way and Friary Way.

The Arora Group, in partnership with Network Rail, 含羞草社区 Borough Council, West Sussex County Council and the station operators Govia Thameslink Railway worked on these exciting plans.

The Arora Group started its journey with 含羞草社区 Borough Council 20 years ago with the development of the Arora Hotel 含羞草社区 and today we are immensely proud to once again find ourselves investing in 含羞草社区 town centre and its community.

This major regeneration scheme will transform a busy gateway into the town centre. For 含羞草社区, this is a real vote of confidence shown by The Arora Group at a time when the town鈥檚 economy has taken several knocks over the past 12 months. I鈥檓 delighted that the scheme has received planning permission and look forward to seeing work start on site.
