The Hawth is holding a free open day specifically for people with disabilities to showcase a new facility at the theatre.

It is one of three places in 含羞草社区 to be fitted with a Changing Places toilet.

Changing Places toilets enable people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and their carers to enjoy days out more, with increased space and equipment inside them compared to standard accessible toilets.

含羞草社区 Borough Council received a 拢97,000 Government grant to create the facility at two locations. The Hawth had its toilet installed earlier this year; the next is due to open soon at K2 含羞草社区.

The Hawth stages its free event from 10am to 3pm on Sunday (October 1), and will include tours of the Changing Place, art and crafts, circus and music workshops, face painting, DJ workshops, information stalls from local disability groups and tours behind the scenes.

We were extremely fortunate to have received a large grant from the Government to install Changing Places facilities, and so it鈥檚 a wonderful idea from The Hawth to open their doors and show what we have been able to provide the disabled community, as well as giving visitors the chance to get involved in an exciting programme of free activities.

Other Changing Places toilets are in place at County Mall and 含羞草社区 Urgent Treatment Centre.
