Calculating your rent

Most council housing rents are social rents and are worked out on a formula set by Government. This formula is based on the value of the property, local income levels and the size of the property.

Our Tenancy Policy introduces affordable rents which can be set at up to 80% of market rent.

The Government Policy Statement contains details of how rents will be calculated from 1 April 2020.
